It appears when a twin or multiple disappear in the uterus during pregnancy as a result of a miscarriage.

The fetal tissue was absorbed by the other twin, multiple, placenta or the mother. This gives the appearance of a "vanishing twin"

 

Many of us can live our whole life without realizing that they have a vanishing twin.

The impact on the way we live our lives from the loss of a twin is huge.

Common examples will be

 

Very low self esteem

A tendency to fight for ones place or withdraw

Competitiveness

Fear of disease, death

Huge guilt

Constant stress in the nervous system

A tendency to attract toxic people or toxic relationships

Or finding it hard to get out of a relationship when it's finished because you put the partner in your twin place and you can't break from your twin. In this case a break of a relationship is devastating.
